Sauder Orchard Hills Carolina Oak Armoire

I purchased this armoire in England in 2000. It has been moved three times, and with the exception of the movers breaking the handles, it still works well. The hardware is good and the drawers still pull in and out smoothly. For the price paid, I wasn't expecting this to last more than 5 years, but I am extremely happy with this armoire. I bought this extra rod to enable my daughter to hang up and access her own clothes, and I'm pleased with the quality, adjustability, and simplicity of design. The assembly was pretty easy, although one clarification for other buyers that's not mentioned in the instructions: The openings on both ends of the horizontal rod are slightly tapered. It will slide onto the vertical rods either way, but make sure to slide the horizontal rod on with the narrower end of the tapers up. That way, when you back the rod down over the black plastic stoppers, the wider tapered ends will cover the stoppers well. (This will make a lot more sense when you start putting the thing together).

Ameriwood Wardrobe Storage

This was absolutely the worst buy ever. It is scratched all over and when delivered I saw that the hanging rod was bent. When I called for a new one the rep didn't understand what I needed even when I gave the part number. I received a very small plastic part which I have no idea what it has to do with my product. My cousin drove a solid rod into the hanging rod so I could use it. The product needs a solid wood back to it as it is also very wobbley. I went to BIG LOTS and bought a 48" that is built much better and I paid a lot less. Horrible product.

Rubbermaid Configurations 3-to-6-Foot Deluxe Custom Closet Kit

I bought this, but it sat in a box for over 4 months because I was scared of the setup. A friend finally forced me into just doing it, and it took less than an hour for the whole deal. It was so quick that I can't believe I let it sit in a box.

A level (the tube with the bubble) proved very useful.

Anyway, it's sturdy, set up so easily, and I love the bars that let you slide hangers all the way across.

It's also nice looking. If you don't need a formal look, you could isntall this directly on an exposed wall for a sort-of utilitarian look. That's actually what I did, and as long as the clothing is neatly hung, it actually looks great.

No complaints whatsoever.
